The price of WTI oil futures for May increased by $0.5 per barrel, according to data from the New York Mercantile Exchange as of March 25 at 7:45 Moscow time.
The price of May West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures during Asian trading on the NYMEX exchange rose to $81.2 per barrel, 0.6% higher than the closing level of the previous day. West Texas oil futures prices had fallen over the previous three trading days from a four-month high reached on March 19.
The price of Brent oil futures for delivery in May on the London ICE Exchange rose to $85.4 per barrel, 0.6% higher than at the end of the previous trading.
The rise in oil prices occurs against a backdrop of growing geopolitical tensions. Meanwhile, the activity of stock speculators is restricted by the restrictive policies of the world’s main central banks.
