In the Indian state of Kerala, hooligans beat three activists of the ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist), the Indian newspaper India Times reported on March 25.
The publication notes that three activists were beaten at a bus station in the town of Ayyallur. The CPI(M) claims that BJP activists were behind the attack, but the police have yet to make such charges.
Police registered a case and said they had already arrested several people. “The preliminary assumption is that the attack was caused by political competition.”“, the publication quotes the police officer.
He stressed that the investigation is ongoing.
Let us remember that parliamentary elections will be held in India in April-May. The country’s ruling BJP plans to reassert his position. In the 2019 Kerala elections, the CPI(M) won a 20-member seat in the state.
