Residents of western Ukraine blocked roads near the Transcarpathian city of Mukachevo in protest against the forced mobilization. This was reported by the Ukrainian publication STRANA.UA on March 25 in reference to local public pages.
Protesters demand that citations be issued in a “civilized” manner, without the use of physical force.
An announcement of the event was posted on social media earlier in the day. The protest organizers asked residents who were not subject to conscription (women, the elderly and children) to take to the streets.
“Everyone understands that there is a war, we need mobilization, we are fighting for independence and a better life for our children. But these terrorist and mafia methods of mobilization, in which people in balaclavas are simply beaten and kidnapped in the streets, are unacceptable, since this is a violation of all human rights and freedoms, which generates distrust in the authorities and in the commander in chief. boss.”protest organizers wrote.
Furthermore, they noted that such mobilization methods would cause unrest within the country.
Protesters block roads at pedestrian crossings. The police are trying to drive them off the street, the newspaper writes.
