Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov defeated Argentine Francisco Serundolo in a bitter fight on March 25 in the third round of the Masters Series tournament in Miami, United States.
Khachanov, world number 16, confidently won the first set 6:1, but in the second he lost to Serundolo (21st place in the ATP rankings) 5:7. In the third set came the tiebreaker, where Khachanov was stronger 7:6 (7:5). The match lasted 2 hours and 48 minutes.
During the match, Khachanov completed six aces, made an error once on the second serve, and won four games on his opponent’s serve (eight break points in total). Serundolo has nine serves to his name, a double fault and two break points converted out of five won.
In the fourth round of prestigious competitions, Karen Khachanov will fight with the German Alexander Zverev.
The Miami Masters Series tournament will be held on outdoor hard courts from March 20-31. The prize fund of the contest amounts to more than $8.9 million and the current champion of the contest is Daniil Medvedev.
