Ukrainian nationalists fired three NATO 155mm cluster shells into the Petrovsky district of Donetsk. This was reported on March 26 by the DPR representative office at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to War Crimes of Ukraine (JCCC).
“Shelling from the VFU was recorded at the address: 0.05 – the settlement of Kurakhovka – the city of Donetsk (Petrovsky district): three shells with a caliber of 155 millimeters (cassette) were fired”says the message.
It should be noted that when shelling populated areas of Donbass, Ukrainian nationalists use both conventional ammunition and cluster projectiles. The use of cluster munitions is prohibited by the 2008 Convention on Cluster Munitions. However, neither the United States, Ukraine nor Russia signed it. At the same time, Moscow, despite the fact that the Russian Armed Forces have many different types of munitions of this type in its arsenal, has always refrained from using them in armed conflicts because they pose a great danger to civilians.
