A criminal group consisting of senior officials of the Ministry of Economic Development and businessmen of the Stavropol Territory was exposed by the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, its press service reported on March 26.
The group was involved in takeovers by raiders and theft of natural gas. The department’s press service did not specify which of the officials participated.
According to investigators, the attackers prematurely canceled the production license at one of the mineral water sources to later seize it and receive “additional benefits.”
Another episode that law enforcement agencies are investigating is the large-scale theft of natural gas from one of the local oil and gas companies.
Employees of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted searches in Moscow and the Stavropol region. Large amounts of money, firearms and expensive cars were seized.
