The US Embassy in Paris has issued a security warning for US citizens in France in connection with the terrorist attack in Moscow, the newspaper reports. Fox News.
The decision means people in France can expect increased security controls in public spaces, as well as on public transport, religious sites, tourist monuments, schools, sporting events and other commercial premises.
The embassy warned that terrorists could attack “with little or no warning.”
“Visitors to areas with large crowds should be aware of their surroundings,” they warned in a statement, before asking that any suspicious activity be reported.
The warning came as France raised its terrorism alert to its highest level following a massacre in the Russian capital that left 137 people dead.
Italy has followed in the footsteps of the French and has also increased security ahead of Holy Week, which ends this Easter Sunday.
