An inspection of the swimming pool where an eight-year-old girl died after being sucked into a tube at a hotel in Texas, US, last Saturday found a lack of safety, according to a report. Daily mail. Aaliyah Jaiko was in the water with her five-year-old sister when she was pulled into the hole, trapping her for 13 hours. The body was found inside the pool motor.
A report from the Houston Health Department, which was responsible for inspecting the pool to analyze the cause of the accident, identified safety problems. The department required the hotel to prove that legal standards were followed. According to the document, the hotel pool was not inspected before opening to customers. The report states that there are no covers on the pool’s suction pipes. However, it is unclear whether their absence occurred before or after Aaliyah’s death.
The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences ruled the child’s death an accidental drowning, but the autopsy report is pending.
The family demanded compensation of approximately one million euros from the hotel chain.
