Spain’s national police arrested a man on Tuesday accused of assaulting his girlfriend during a live broadcast on TikTok. The video went viral on social media and sparked protests. The detention took place, but the girl did not file a complaint against her boyfriend.
According to Peacethe couple posted a video in which they explained that the whole thing was staged in order to become famous on the social network.
The attack happened this weekend. Simone, 23, spoke live with three other young people. One of them asked who was with the girl, to which she replied: “This is my father.” In the distance, you can hear someone answering: “Who do I look like?”. The boy gets up and slaps Simone, who quickly recovered and tried to hide the situation.
The video went viral on social media, and Simone ended up making excuses that it was all just a game: “closewe did it all for the money, for the fame.”
On Tuesday morning, Simona and her boyfriend went to the Soria police station to report the insults and threats they had received, according to Efe. It was at this point that agents arrested Lucifer, the name he uses on TikTok.
