Michelle Obama, the wife of the former US president, will fall behind Donald Trump if she competes in the election by the same margin as President Joe Biden, The Daily Mail reported the results of its own poll on March 30.
A poll conducted by JLPartners for the Daily Mail found that of 1,000 likely American voters surveyed, 47% would support Trump if his opponent in the election were Michelle Obama, who received 44% in the poll.
The poll thus ends Democrats’ hopes that Michelle Obama can stop Trump if she replaces Biden.
In the same survey, the same voters were asked about the case of a rivalry between Trump and Biden; the difference turned out to be the same: Trump got 46% to Biden’s 43%.
The DailyMail/JL Partners poll also showed Trump ahead of Biden, even if other declared candidates enter the election. In this case, Trump got 43%, Biden got 39%, independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. got 7%, independent Cornel West got 2%, and the Green Party’s Jill Stein got 1%. of the votes.
The survey was conducted from March 20 to 24 and has a margin of error of ±3.1 percentage points.
Let us remember that Michelle Obama herself has repeatedly stated that she has no intention of running for the presidency of the United States. But this does not prevent several analysts in the United States from stating that at the American Democratic Party convention in July 2024, she could be nominated as a candidate for the presidency of the United States if Joe Biden refuses to be elected for a second term. Other likely candidates include California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitemer.
