MP Paulo Nuncio will become the next parliamentary leader of the CDS-PP, the party announced on Tuesday.
“Paulo Nuncio, deputy elected from the district of Lisbon, vice-president of the CDS-PP and former Secretary of State for Financial Affairs, was this Tuesday elected president of the parliamentary group of the CDS-PP,” reads a note sent to the Lusa agency.
In the last legislative elections, the CDS-PP elected two deputies: Paulo Nuncio from Lisbon and Nuno Melo from the Porto district.
The President of the CDS-PP is leaving parliament as he takes up the position of Minister of National Defense this Tuesday, but he still participated in the elections for the leadership of the college.
The next name indicated by the CDS-PP on the list of Porto circles is party vice-president and former deputy Alvaro Castello-Branco, who will replace Nuno Melo, an official centrist source confirmed to Lusa.
The CDS-PP participated in the March 10 legislative elections in a coalition with the PSD and PPM, the parties that formed the Democratic Alliance (AD).
