Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro once again said that Venezuela is ready to help Europe and the United States with oil and gas, given the energy difficulties caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
“I tell Europe, the European Union and US President Joe Biden that Venezuela is here, that Venezuela will always be here, and that our oil and our gas are available to stabilize the world and help with everything.” We need help,” the head of state said.
Nicolás Maduro spoke during a meeting with employees of the state company Petroleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA), which was broadcast on Venezuelan state television.
“Venezuela is here, ready and ready to export our products to all the necessary markets. Here we are,” he repeated.
Earlier, Nicolas Maduro explained that “with the war in Ukraine, we are seeing an economic and energy crisis in the world,” and stated that “Venezuela is becoming increasingly important in the equation of energy and economic stability in the world.”
“Winter is coming north. There is a crisis with the supply of gas and oil. A crisis that can be tragic and frightening,” he said.
According to Nicolás Maduro, Venezuela will continue to work and produce.
“We don’t want war with anyone. We want peace and cooperation,” the minister stressed, drawing attention to the “beautiful” thing that is happening between Venezuela and Colombia, which are restoring bilateral relations that were broken after 2019
On the other hand, he explained that Venezuela’s real economy was “running its course” and that “economic times are very favorable for Venezuela in the coming years.”
“(…) Until 2030 and beyond, Venezuela will be the economic miracle of Latin America and the Caribbean,” he said.
On the other hand, he recalled that due to international sanctions, Venezuela had to “with all my heart do one thing here and another there” in order to move forward.
“We have done a lot in silence and we will continue to do a lot in silence, step by step,” Maduro said.
On June 5, Nicolás Maduro said the country has the oil the world needs and accused Europe and the US of committing economic suicide by imposing sanctions on Russia in the context of its invasion of Ukraine.
“The oil that the world needs to function is here in Venezuela,” he said.
Nicolás Maduro spoke to Telesur in which he also explained that “Venezuela has the fourth largest gas reserves in the world” and estimates what he can do to have “third or second place”.
“We have impressive gas reserves in the Caribbean, in northern Venezuela. They need all the gas,” he said, emphasizing that all of South America is gas and oil.
However, he insisted that “the world must get rid of relationships based on blackmail, threats, coercion and sanctions.”
On July 19, Vice President of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSV, the ruling party) Diosdado Cabello said that Venezuela is ready to supply oil and gas to Spain and the rest of Europe, but with prepayment and through a mechanism that allows the government, subject to international sanctions, to use these resources.
“Venezuela has oil not only for Spain, but also for Europe (…) but they have to pay for it. And they will have to pay the price that is, and given the circumstances, they will have to pay in advance (…) and the mechanism , which will allow Venezuela to use the resources that it will pay for this oil,” he said at a press conference in Caracas.
