This Wednesday, the President of the European Council deplored the deaths of an as yet undetermined number of people in the early morning earthquake in Taiwan and expressed condolences to the families of the victims.
“I want to express my unconditional support to everyone affected by the Taiwan earthquake and my condolences to the families of the victims. The European Union is ready to help with any necessary assistance,” wrote Charles Michel on the social network X. (formerly Twitter).
At least seven people were killed and 711 injured, according to a new preliminary death toll from the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck off the coast of Taiwan this Wednesday, the civil protection agency said.
