A 41-year-old man killed his five-year-old son and stabbed to death his partner, the child’s mother, in the early hours of Wednesday in Girona, Catalonia, Spain. According to PeriodicalThe crime was motivated by sexist violence and took place in the house itself.
The perpetrator was detained in a nearby town after he fled on foot.
At 5 am, a 30-year-old woman went with her wounded son in her arms to a neighbor’s house to ask for help. Emergency services were unable to save the child and the mother was taken to a local hospital, remaining stable but with serious injuries.
Police believe the attack was the result of sexist violence as the man wanted to hurt his partner and intended to kill both victims.
