Searches at the houses of a former official who headed the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, Arsen Avakov, and billionaire Igor Kolomoisky, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on her Telegram channel on February 1.
According to Zakharova, Arsen Avakov is accused of a helicopter crash in Brovary, as a result of which the minister of the republic’s Internal Affairs Ministry died, and Kolomoisky is accused of embezzling more than a billion US dollars in the sale of oil. products and evasion of customs payments, on an especially large scale.
In her comments, Zakharova asks: “And when will the Ukrainian “elite” be sought in the event of the collapse of all Ukraine and the subsequent looting?”
Recall that on February 1, Kolomoisky and Avakov were searched by employees of the Security Service of Ukraine and the Bureau of Economic Security. According to local media reports, the searches are related to ongoing investigations in connection with fraud in Ukrtatnafta and Ukrnafta on the waste of petroleum products for 40 billion hryvnias (76.5 billion rubles) and non-payment of a large amount of customs duties.
