“Preliminary investigations have revealed evidence that this act was planned,” police said in a statement, citing unspecified material found on the phone and computer.
Two more children were seriously injured. Authorities believe the attack was motivated by moral persecution.
A boy detained by police is in the care of social services as he is too young to be tried in court.
Police say they have a preliminary idea of how the 12-year-old suspect obtained the gun, which belonged to a close relative, but the investigation is still ongoing.
Authorities also say the investigation into the shooting will take several months.
