The price of a barrel of WTI oil for delivery in May during trading on the NYMEX exchange was $86.7 per barrel, 0.2% higher than the closing level of the previous day. During trading, quotes for West Texas oil futures rose above $87 per barrel, which corresponds to the level of October 20.
The price of Brent oil futures with a June closing date on the ICE London Exchange is $90.9 per barrel, 0.3% higher than the previous day’s closing level.
The stabilization of oil prices occurs in the context of the continued restrictive policies of the main central banks. Meanwhile, stock market speculators fear a new rise in geopolitical tensions.
