An off-duty NYPD officer was arrested for driving with a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit, the agency reported Friday. New York Daily News.
The police’s attention was drawn to a car parked next to the sidewalk with the engine running and headlights on. 39-year-old Jennifer Melendez was in the car surrounded by several bottles of alcoholic beverages.
According to the court’s findings, the police officer was in the passenger seat and said “she stopped the car.” Next to the woman stood an almost empty bottle of tequila, another empty bottle of vodka and a can of beer without any drink.
Jennifer was arrested for driving under the influence and driving under the influence, but was eventually released without bail. The lawyer did not comment on the case.
