An 80-year-old woman was killed by an elephant on Saturday morning while on safari in Zambia, Africa, police said this Thursday. Mirror.
The tour was taking place along the trails of Kafue National Park with six visitors and a guide when an elephant began stalking and violently attacking the van they were traveling in.
The moment was captured on video recorded by one of the visitors. At one point, the animal can be seen running at high speed and using the van’s stop to get closer. As a result, the animal attacked the entire group and, using its trunk, forced the car to roll over.
In addition to the fatal victim, other passengers were also injured, with one woman requiring hospitalization. The company responsible for this activity stated that it was provided with post-traumatic counseling.
The organizer also clarified that all the guides are “extremely well trained and experienced,” saying that in the case in question, the situation was made worse by the terrain and dense vegetation that ended up blocking the route.
This is not an exceptional case of an out-of-control elephant attacking someone. In February this year CM reported another attack that left a woman injured in India.
