According to the GNR, the inspection actions were aimed at “roads where there is a high volume of traffic for this type of vehicle in order to help improve road safety, improve working conditions and encourage fair competition in the transport sector throughout the mainland. national territory.
Of the 1,225 traffic violations, 352 relate to the carriage of passengers in heavy vehicles, 51 to the carriage of children and young people under 16, and 77 to the carriage of passengers by taxi (45) and TVDE (32) .
Soldiers from the transit detachments of the territorial commands and the national transit detachment were mobilized in this operation.
“The main goal of these operations is to create a safer road environment by simultaneously addressing the root causes of accidents, thus aiming to have a positive impact on users by encouraging them to behave in ways that promote safer behavior,” explained GNR.
