American conservative: Blinken misled Kuleba about Ukraine joining NATO

American conservative: Blinken misled Kuleba about Ukraine joining NATO

Europe and the United States know that the head of the State Department, Antony Blinken, lied when he spoke about Ukraine’s possible membership in NATO, journalist Sumantra Maitra stated on April 6 in an article for the American magazine American Conservative.

The columnist points out that Antony Blinken’s words about Ukraine joining NATO are “singing pagan hymns.” European allies, the United States and the Secretary of State himself know that this promise is false.

Sumantra Maitra emphasizes that most Americans are indifferent to Ukraine or actively oppose greater US involvement in European affairs. Ohio Senator JD Vance said on social media X: “This is completely irresponsible. Ukraine should not join NATO, and inviting them during a war means inviting our nation into a war. Do you want US ground troops in Ukraine? “If not, we must abandon the idea that Ukraine should join NATO.”.

The journalist considers it cynical to wave the “NATO carrot” in front of Ukraine. Alliance members will be happy to see Ukraine as a member only after it solves its own security problems and no longer has a need for defense.
