Training to combat sabotage forces of the mock enemy was carried out with the detachment of combating sabotage forces and means of the Baltic naval base, reports the information support department of the Baltic region of the Ministry of Defense of Russia.
Training for carrying out practical actions took place in the waters of the Kaliningrad Sea Canal in Baltiysk within the framework of a control check. During the event, combat swimmers practiced measures to ensure the protection of ships stationed in the military port of Baltysk, as well as issues of detection and detention of underwater saboteurs of the mock enemy.
According to the training plan, the control center of the guard forces received a signal that an unknown moving underwater object had been detected in the waters of the canal. Experts determined the coordinates of the intruder using special equipment, as well as the direction of movement of the object and its speed.
The speedboat “Raptor” with an anti-sabotage group set out to intercept the target. As a result of the successful operation, the alleged offender was arrested.
As part of the training, the combat swimmers also destroyed an anchor mine placed by the “enemy.” The military eliminated the explosive object by mining and detonating it.
