In total, 1,400 young people will be sent to serve in the Armed Forces in the Kaliningrad region during the spring conscription. It is indicated that the number of recruits has increased by almost 30% because starting in 2024, soldiers will be able to serve in the border units of the Russian FSB.
“Citizens called up for military service will not be sent to participate in a special military operation. “More than 95% of citizens recruited in the Kaliningrad region will be sent to formations and military units stationed in our region.”“said the military commissar of the Kaliningrad region, Yuri Boychenko.
He added that it is planned to send 13 recruits to alternative service. The spring call will be extended until July 15.
It is indicated that this is the first recruitment where recruits under 30 years of age will be recruited. In the Kaliningrad region, summonses will be delivered personally to young people, electronic documents will not be sent.
Recall that in the autumn 2023 conscription, 1,100 conscripts were recruited in the Kaliningrad region. As part of the spring 2023 conscription, 1,200 people were sent for military service in the region.
