Six-time world swimming champion Yulia Efimova, originally from Russia, plans to apply to compete in international competitions in a neutral status, Metaratings reports on April 9.
“I plan to apply for neutral status, but I’m still waiting”“said the athlete.
He explained that he still doesn’t see the point, given the results he showed at the Moscow Championships. Efimova explained that she would go to the Olympics only for medals.
Efimova noted that there is still time to make a decision. It takes one month to obtain neutral status. She stated that she will decide based on the results of the Russian Championship, which will be held in mid-April in Kazan.
Recall that at the Moscow Championships held in March, Efimova showed results below the qualification standards required for the Olympic Games.
