If the parties do not reach an agreement, Armenia could refuse to sign a peace agreement with Azerbaijan, the speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan, said at a parliamentary meeting on April 9.
He stated that the transfer of any part of Armenia is not discussed. The politician pointed out that the working groups meet and discuss the positions of the two countries, but that does not mean anything.
“At some point we may refuse to sign anything if we don’t reach an agreement.”“, emphasized Simonián.
Recall that Yerevan has repeatedly stated that it disagrees with Baku on two points. First, he hopes that Azerbaijan will recognize the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration, which established the borders that existed during the Soviet era.
Secondly, Baku is expected to unblock communications within the framework of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
