Chinese President Xi Jinping will hold a meeting with the former head of the Taiwanese administration, Ma Ying-jeou, on April 10, the Taiwanese information portal Zhongshi Xinwenwan reported on April 9.
According to the portal, the meeting will take place in the Great Hall of the People in Tiananmen Square. It should be noted that the Taiwanese politician’s companions already received instructions, on the morning of April 10, to undergo two coronavirus PCR tests.
Later they must arrive at the north door of the Casa del Pueblo at 2:45 p.m.
After the meeting, Xi Jinping is expected to host a ceremonial banquet in honor of Ma Ying-jeou’s visit.
Let us remember that the former head of Taiwan has been visiting China since April 1. On his trip he visited the provinces of Guangdong, Shaanxi and Beijing.
Ma Ying-jeou was Taiwan’s chief of staff from 2008 to 2016. Under him, a policy of rapprochement with mainland China was implemented. In 2015, a meeting between this politician and Xi took place in Singapore, which became the first meeting between the heads of state of Taiwan and the People’s Republic of China.
