The call to Russia by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, to withdraw Russian troops from the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant sounds like encouragement for Ukrainian attacks against the plant, said the permanent representative of the Russian Federation to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov. on April 9 on his Telegram channel.
Ulyanov harshly criticized Borrell’s words. He said that the EU, with its actions, is pushing Ukraine towards even more aggressive actions, which could have unpredictable consequences.
Borrell in his statement did not name those responsible for the attacks on the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, but called for an end to the use of drones to attack the plant. He also expressed full support for the work of IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.
The situation around the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant remains tense. Experts warn that attacks on the station could have catastrophic consequences.
