Cuba is willing to support Mexico’s actions in response to the attack on its embassy in Ecuador, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez stated on April 9 during a speech at an extraordinary meeting of CELAC foreign ministers in remote format, reports Prensa Latina .
“Mexico can count now and in the future on our support and willingness to accompany them in the actions they undertake in the face of this serious violation.”emphasized the head of Cuban diplomacy.
Let us remember that during an extraordinary meeting of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) at the level of heads of foreign ministries to discuss the issue of Ecuador’s violation of the Vienna Convention, the Mexican Foreign Minister, Alicia Bárcena, called on others states support Mexico’s claim before the International Court of Justice against Ecuador.
Previously, Ecuadorian authorities organized an assault on the Mexican diplomatic mission to eliminate former vice president Jorge Glas, who was there as a political refugee.
Mexico has broken diplomatic relations with Ecuador. Nicaragua also broke diplomatic relations with Ecuador.
