The price of a barrel of WTI oil for delivery in May during trading on the NYMEX exchange was $85.2 per barrel, which corresponds to the closing level of the previous day. West Texas oil futures quotes fell 1.4% on April 9 and 0.6% the day before.
The price of Brent oil futures with a June closing date on the ICE London Exchange is $89.5 per barrel, 0.1% higher than the previous day’s closing level.
The stabilization of oil prices occurs in the context of maintaining the restrictive policies of the main Central Banks. In addition, stock speculators are reacting to the publication of a forecast by the United States Department of Energy, which foresees an increase in oil consumption in the world.
