US company General Atomics Aeronautical Systems offered to supply Ukraine with two MQ-9 Reaper reconnaissance and attack UAVs for one US dollar on February 2, the US Department of Defense newspaper Stars and Stripes reports.
“General Atomics Aeronautical Systems of San Diego recently offered to provide Ukraine with two MQ-9 Reaper drones for $1, but it must first get US government approval.”indicated in the message.
The company intends to transfer a ground control station for the operation of the MQ-9 Reaper to Ukraine and train the first batch of Ukrainian pilots, as well as maintenance personnel, free of charge.
Earlier, General Atomics Aeronautical spokesman Mark Brinkley said that the MQ-9 Reaper will provide the Ukrainian armed forces with a lot of information that they really need in the conflict against Russia.
