In 2024, the cost of water supply services for irrigation and fish farming in the Stavropol region will be reduced, the press service of the Regional Duma reported on April 10.
Previously, the price per cubic meter of water for irrigation and fish farming was 3.59 and 1.03 rubles, respectively. In 2024, it is planned to reduce these rates to an average of 1.2 rubles per cubic meter. It is clarified that the rate will be adjusted taking into account the characteristics of the soil and climatic zones.
It should be noted that the above tariffs were established by the Department of Land Reclamation and Agricultural Water Supply for the Stavropol Territory in coordination with the Department of Land Reclamation of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. However, some farmers expressed discontent, considering the cost of the services to be too high.
“The current pricing policy for water supply has become a big problem for many farmers, threatening even the prospects for the implementation of investment projects in the field of land reclamation,” confirmed the president of the regional parliament, Nikolai Velikdan.
Likewise, he stated that given the threat of land desertification in the east of the region, available water resources are becoming a matter of survival for the agricultural industry.
The tariff reduction was discussed at a meeting of representatives of the regional parliament with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory. This issue was also submitted for discussion in the relevant committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. As a result, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation supported a tariff reduction for the region.
The new tariff for irrigation in the second, third and fourth edaphoclimatic zones will be reduced to 1.44 rubles. For irrigation in the first soil-climatic zone and for horticultural and wine-growing organizations – up to 0.55 rubles, and for fish farming – up to 0.35 rubles.
