Supplies of imported Bacardi rum, vodka and gin in Russia have almost run out, RBC reported on April 11.
We are talking about Bacardi rum, Gray Goose vodka and Bombay Sapphire gin. This is due to the fact that Bacardi Limited, which continues to operate officially after the start of the CBO, has stopped official deliveries.
In addition to these brands, Aberfeldy whiskey and Patrón tequila have stopped being supplied to Russia.
So far, Bacardi has continued to ship only vermouths and sparkling wines from Italian producers under the Martini brand, said AST CEO Leonida Rafailova. This is due to Italy’s more loyal feeling towards Russia.
Dewar’s and William Lawson’s whiskeys and Oakheart rum are still available in Russia. These brands are produced in Russia at the facilities of the Novabev Group and the Tula 1911 Distillery.
Recall that The Wall Street Journal previously reported that the American alcoholic beverage manufacturer Bacardi promised to suspend work in Russia, but continued supplies. Over the past year, the company delivered products worth $169 million, and from mid-2022 to August 2023, the company even increased its revenue to 30 billion rubles (8.5%), filling niches left by others manufacturers on the Russian market.
