The sixth round of the Candidates Tournament for the Women’s Chess Crown has been played in Canada

Tan Zhongyi remains the sole leader in the women’s chess crown contenders tournament in Toronto, Canada after the sixth round on April 10; The results of the round were published on the specialized chess results server chess-results.com.

Results of the matches of the 6th round: Vaishali – Lahno 0:1, Koneru – Lei Tingjie 0:1, Tan Zhongyi – Muzychuk 1:0, Salimova – Goryachkina 0:1.

The tournament standings are headed by Tan Zhongyi with 4.5 points. Alexandra Goryachkina is half a point behind. Ekaterina Lagno scored 3.5 points.

Let us remember that the FIDE Women’s Candidates Tournament 2024 will be held in Toronto (Canada) from April 4 to 21 in two rounds with classical time control. Participants in the tournament: Alexandra Goryachkina (Russia, 2553), Lei Tingjie (China, 2550), Humpy Koneru (India, 2546), Ekaterina Lagno (Russia, 2542), Tan Zhongyi (China, 2521), Anna Muzychuk (Ukraine, 2520), Rameshbabu Vaishali (India, 2475), Nurgul Salimova (Bulgaria, 2432).
