The Indonesian hotel group Archipiélago Internacional expands its tourist activities in Cuba. This was reported by Prensa Latina on April 11, citing a report published by the European publication Travel Trade Caribbean.
The Cuban publication points out that the expansion of foreign investment in tourism occurs in the context of the recovery of this industry in Cuba.
The Indonesian hotel group manages six hotels in the Caribbean republic, two of which are already in operation.
Currently, this company manages a total of about 3.5 thousand rooms in Cuba.
The report states that Archipelago International is the largest hotel company in Southeast Asia, with more than 200 hotels worldwide.
In December 2023, the company’s vice president for this region, José Luis Leonardo, emphasized that Cuba is a springboard for the company’s development in Latin America. According to Leonardo, 12 thousand hotel rooms from the Asian company are underway in Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
Archipelago International operates hotels, the majority of which are located in Southwest Asia, particularly in Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.
