This Thursday, the PSP Metropolitan Command in Lisbon is carrying out an operation against drug trafficking, which is concentrated mainly in the Quinta do Loureiro area, in Lisbon and Sintra, with the participation of members of the network arrested last year.
The PSP said in a statement that a total of nine search warrants were executed at the residences, involving multiple officers with criminal investigation and public order skills.
The operation, according to PSP, targets a drug trafficking network that was the target of a police intervention last year when 20 members of the group were arrested, four of whom were in pre-trial detention.
The PSP says members who did not take this enforcement action “have returned to rebuilding their businesses and are the ones targeted by today’s police intervention.”
“The area of Quinta do Loureiro, successor to Casal Ventoso, is a sensitive urban area where drug trafficking is well established and where the PSP frequently carries out anti-drug activities,” the note said.
The PSP says that over the past two years, in the two areas of Greater Lisbon covered by this operation, 154 people have been arrested, of whom 41 are in preventive detention, as well as eight kilograms of cocaine, 1.2 kilograms of heroin and 12 kilograms of hashish. .
