The SOS system of the car being repaired in the workshop mobilized two Coimbra fire brigades on Tuesday morning in connection with the accident, which in the end was not.
It happened at half past nine in the morning. By calling 112, firefighters and volunteers from Coimbra received an alarm from the barracks and were mobilized to help with the accident. When they arrived at the indicated location, they did not find any damaged vehicles, confirming that the vehicle that sent the alarm was in a workshop located on Cidade de Santos Street in Monte Formoso, Coimbra.
It was then concluded that the vehicle’s electrical SOS system had tripped during repairs due to a mechanical failure, indicating that it had issued a distress signal unexpectedly.
The PSP recorded the incident, and the firemen returned to the barracks.
