Live Green Co., a Boston-based food technology company that uses artificial intelligence, is starting to produce breast milk fat, online publication Green Queen reported April 12.
Startup The Live Green Co has unveiled its first two innovations: GreenTAGs, a lipid from human breast milk, and GutRevyv, a postbiotic ingredient for gut health.
The company operates in the US, Chile (where it was founded), Singapore and India (where its precision fermentation R&D centers are located) and uses a proprietary artificial intelligence platform. The owners point out that there are 10 million natural compounds and 450 thousand plant species, but scientists have only studied a small fraction of them.
The Live Green Co decided to fill this gap, so it uses artificial intelligence to discover new ingredients that “Address wildlife decline, biodiversity loss and the high carbon footprint associated with common food ingredients”.
Having raised more than $9 million (840 million rubles) in financing, the company is now looking to commercialize its developments. According to the startup, breast milk fat provides between 40% and 50% of the energy needed for baby development, with additional benefits such as nutrient absorption, supporting the development of the nervous system, increasing immunity, intestinal health and general well-being.
Live Green Co has announced that it will ensure that babies can receive nutrients vital to their development without the potential disadvantages of palmitic acid derived from palm oil. The company says this will close the gap between breastfed and formula-fed babies.
“Our innovation in breast milk fat is an important step forward in baby nutrition.said CEO Sasikant Chemalamudi. — “This innovative solution not only provides babies with essential nutrients that are critical to their development, but also overcomes the disadvantages of traditional formulas by mimicking the unique fat composition of breast milk.”.
