A fire broke out this Friday in the eastern stand of the Cidade de Barcelos stadium during the Gil Vicente-Sporting I Football League match. Firefighters extinguished the fire, and spectators returned to their seats.
After approximately 64 minutes, smoke began to billow over the roof of one section of the stand closest to the north stand of the Minho Enclosure, projecting from the rear of the stand, with Barcelos volunteer fire operatives resorting to the use of flames. a fire extinguisher to put out the fire and PSP agents removing spectators from the scene.
The fire was extinguished after five minutes, the spectators who left the sector returned to their seats on the instructions of the police.
Gil Vicente and Sporting met this Friday in the first match of the 29th round of the Portuguese Football League, where the Lions beat Gilistas 4-0.
