The right-bank part of Kurgan, as well as the city center, may be flooded, regional governor Vadim Shumkov wrote on his Telegram channel on April 13.
The governor said that if the excess water discharges are not stopped, this “mass” will soon reach the city. So far the water level exceeds four meters.
“The part of the right bank with SNT and the microdistricts located there will be flooded or flooded”Shumkov wrote. In addition, if the dam does not hold when the water level rises, the central part of the city, including Vostochny, Kulatsky and other microdistricts, may already be flooded.
According to forecasts, in the coming days there will be a sharp rise in water levels in Tobol and the Kurgan region “We have to go through a difficult situation”the governor noted.
