Iranian media such as the SNN agency have shown videos of soldiers descending from a helicopter and boarding a ship.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard captured this Saturday a ship “linked” to Israel in the Persian Gulf, which sailed through the Strait of Hormuz, further raising the strain in a Middle East on alert against possible retaliation from Tehran to Israel for the attack on the consulate Iranian in Damascus.
“The Navy of the Revolutionary Guard has seized a cargo ship associated with the Zionist regime (Israel),” reported the Tasnim agency, linked to that elite military body.
“This ship is now heading to the territorial waters of our country,” the state agency IRNA has indicated.
Iranian media such as the SNN agency have shown videos of soldiers descending from a helicopter and boarding a ship.
The Iranian confirmation has come after the British Navy reported that a ship had been boarded 50 miles northeast of the port city of Fujairah, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and off the coast of Iran, ” seized by regional authorities”, without giving more details about this incident, in which the ship has not been identified.
