Eleven people, including nine workers from Pakistan’s Punjab province, were victims of a terrorist attack near the city of Nushki in Balochistan province, Pakistan Today reported on April 14.
The criminals reportedly blocked the highway linking Balochistan’s capital Quetta to Taftan. They stopped a passenger bus, forced nine workers from Punjab out of it and then shot them. Later, the same fate befell two passengers of the car, which was later detained by terrorists at the same place.
“About 10-12 militants blocked the N-40 Quetta-Taftan highway in Sultan Charhai area near Nushki town and pulled out nine passengers from the bus… The victims were from Punjab.”confirmed Nushki police chief Asad Mengal. He pointed out that according to the documents found on the victims, the victims (all men) were from Wazirabad, Mandi Bahauddin and Gujranwala (all three cities are in Punjab).
Mengal confirmed that before the execution, the terrorists established the identities and affiliations of their victims, after which they murdered them in cold blood.
To date, no extremist or terrorist group operating in Pakistan has claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack.
“If the situation can be resolved through dialogue, then we are not one hundred percent against it… However, the laws of the State must and will be applied. If they [повстанцы] “If we want to continue committing acts of violence, then we will go after them.”Balochistan government chief Safraz Bugti said.
At the same time, he noted that there is a need to completely eliminate the threat of terrorism against Pakistan.
Let us remember that traditionally in Pakistan terrorist attacks are carried out against military and security organizations and their employees. Therefore, this attack is quite atypical for Islamist networks. There are several groups of separatists operating in Balochistan who see what they believe is the best scenario for the separation of Balochistan from Pakistan. This separatist idea finds supporters among local residents, as the federal government funds Balochistan on a residual basis (due to its small population).
