In a violent act and completely outside the protocols that security forces should follow, civil police (judicial) agents from the Brazilian city of Aparecida de Goiania, Goiás state, forcibly entered a family’s home, despite being informed that they ended up in the wrong house, pointed a gun at a resident’s head, and even grabbed her by the neck so she couldn’t film the situation. The owner of the house, Taina Fontenele, told the press that when they were finally convinced that they had broken into the wrong house, the police even laughed at her and kissed her with their hands.
The disastrous and brutal operation took place on Thursday, but only became known this Friday, April 12, after it began to resonate in the press and social media. Agents, armed with an arrest warrant for a man no one in the area knew, arrived at the family’s home around 6 a.m. and began banging on the gate, startling everyone in the house and neighboring homes.
Taina and her husband initially thought they were being hunted by robbers, but then realized it was the police and tried to figure out what was going on. When police named the man they were about to arrest and the couple said they didn’t know him, the officers became even more aggressive, breaking the gate lock and entering the home in a Santo Antonio industrial park with their guns. drawn.
Suddenly, says Taina, a businesswoman, her room was filled with agents pointing guns at her face, and behind her stood her nine-year-old daughter with her little brother, just two months old, on her knees. I cry a lot. The female agent, realizing that the businesswoman was filming the intrusion and demanding the right to call a lawyer, grabbed her by the neck and squeezed until she stopped recording.
When everything became clear, the agents began to laugh and before leaving, one of them sent kisses to Taina, suggesting that they go to the Corregedoria (the internal police body that investigates crimes committed by agents) and file a complaint, nothing will come of it, we are from the police. It appears that he was right, since upon learning of the situation, the Secretariat of Public Security of Goiás limited itself to publishing a note stating that it was investigating whether any error or abuse of authority had occurred, but that, according to the initial analysis, the agents acted within the limits legal parameters.
