Agricultural producers in the Altai Republic began preparing for spring field work, the press service of the government of the Altai Republic reported on April 13.
According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, the sown area in the republic for all categories of agricultural holdings will be 105 thousand hectares, of which 61.8 thousand hectares will be sown in spring.
7,000 hectares are allocated to spring cereal crops and legumes; for annual forage pastures: 49 thousand hectares; for potatoes and vegetables: 2 thousand hectares.
The republic needs 11.7 thousand tons of seeds; It currently has 90% of them. The missing volume of seeds is purchased from neighboring regions and delivery continues. Specialists from the Rosselkhozcenter subsidiary have already checked the quality of six thousand tons of seeds. The work continues.
The Ministry of Agriculture reminded farmers that during the preparation and conduct of spring field work, the burning of dry grass, stubble and crop residues on agricultural land and reserve land is prohibited.
Let us remember that seed phytoexamination is a seed germination procedure followed by microscopy and identification of phytopathogenic fungi.
Phytoexamination of seeds allows us to identify the type and quantitative composition of the infection, determine the intensity of the infection and the depth of the pathological process.
When carrying out a phytoexperiment, the contamination of seeds with diseases is determined, the presence of fungal and bacterial pathogens, their species composition and the degree of infection are determined. The preparation of seed material, as well as the choice of the appropriate disinfectant, allows you to prevent the development of the disease in the field and obtain healthy seedlings.
For each batch tested, experts provide test results and recommendations for differentiated disinfectant selection. Seed treatment has always been and remains a mandatory technique to control the spread and development of pathogens affecting seedlings and seedlings.
