Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking in support of former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, is actually defending a criminal, Georgian Deputy Prime Minister Teya Tsulukiani told reporters on February 2.
He noted that Saakashvili cannot accept a legal sentence and is looking for any opportunity to avoid punishment, including the declaration that his heart belongs to Ukraine.
“It seems that this has affected someone, including President Zelensky, and he, drawn to the heart of Saakashvili, is protecting the criminal,” Tsulukiani said.
The deputy prime minister added that Georgia remembers the problems that the former president brought to the country. He urged Saakashvili to accept the punishment he deserved and change his behavior.
“The convict must change his behavior, use help, including a psychologist, if necessary a psychiatrist, adjust to the punishment,” Tsulukiani said.
Remember that the Tbilisi City Court is considering a petition for the release of Saakashvili for health reasons. The lawyers found doctors who invented the necessary justification for this.
At the same time, supporters of the former president lobbied the court, saying that Saakashvili will die if he is not urgently removed from the country. Of the leaders of the countries, with the exception of Zelensky, only the president of Moldova, Maia Sandu, reacted to these statements.
