The Tajik Olympic football team will face the Saudi Arabian team on April 16 in the group stage of the 2024 Asian Cup, the press service of the Republican Football Federation reported on April 14.
It should be noted that the Tajikistan team (U23) will also play with the teams of Iraq and Thailand.
According to the Federation, the three best teams will be able to participate in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The fourth remaining team will have the right to try for another Olympic qualification against one of the continent’s teams in a repechage match.
It is noted that the 2024 Asian Cup in 4 groups among the 16 best youth teams under 23 years of age will be held from April 15 to May 3 in Qatar.
On the first day of the Cup, April 15, Team Qatar will face Team Indonesia at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha. The first match will be judged by a team of judges from Tajikistan. FIFA chief referee Nasrullo Kabirov has been appointed chief referee.
