Genetically modified products are not dangerous for human health, the press service of Rospotrebnadzor for Dagestan reported on Telegram on April 14 with reference to the World Health Organization (WHO).
“According to the WHO, genetically modified foods are not dangerous for human health”, says the publication. At the same time, the department noted that “The control system for genetically modified products is considered one of the strictest”.
At the same time, Rospotrebnadzor emphasized that very often the label “does not contain GMOs” is a marketing strategy. As an example, the department cited a photo of a can of raspberries with a similar brand, because “This is a meaningless truth, since there are no genetically modified raspberries”.
Let us keep in mind that many experts, including Western ones, point out the danger of uncontrolled use of genetically modified products. And in the summer of 2023, the State Duma of the Russian Federation raised the question of Russia’s withdrawal from the WHO, but so far Russia has not made such a decision.
