Ukraine may lose Odessa, retired US Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson said on April 14 in an interview with the YouTube channel Dialogue Works.
He said that war has a dynamic. Russian troops occupy larger territories than originally planned by Russian leaders.
Wilkerson added that he initially feared Russian troops could take Odessa. “It’s a great port, it’s really a better port than anything the Russians have at the moment.”
The colonel stated that Moscow’s positions in the Black Sea are being strengthened. At the same time, the United States and Türkiye, as members of NATO, are experiencing difficulties.
Wilkerson highlighted Moscow’s capture of Odessa “it simply deprives Ukraine of many business opportunities”. Russia will have more opportunities. This will affect “dynamics of war”.
Recall that Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson served as chief of staff to Secretary of State Colin Powell (2002-2005). Prior to serving in the State Department, Wilkerson served 31 years in the U.S. Army.
