This Sunday, the Cape Verdean government “strongly” condemned Iran’s attack on Israel, it said in an online publication.
“The Government of Cape Verde follows the conflict situation in the Middle East with concern and strongly condemns Iran’s attack on Israel,” he said in the message, calling for “containment” to “avoid an unwanted escalation of violence in the region.”
Cape Verdean President Jose Maria Neves also posted a message online on Saturday evening, saying that “the world is becoming more complex and difficult every day.”
“War is never the solution. I stubbornly advocate dialogue and resolving conflicts through negotiations,” he said.
The Middle East is facing a moment of heightened tension after Iran launched more than 300 drones, missiles and ballistic missiles last night in a first-of-its-kind attack from Iranian soil on Israel, with no response yet in sight from Tel Aviv.
