Two children aged 13 and two men aged 38 and 40 were rescued from the water at Paimo beach in Agusadura, Povoa de Varzim, this Sunday afternoon after becoming stranded. The incident occurred at 17:35.

Realizing that his son was in danger, the father decided to help him, but he also found himself in chains.
Two swimmers, aged 40 and 13, then entered the water and managed to reach the minor, but had difficulty returning to the beach.
Faced with the situation, a former lifeguard stationed on the terrace jumped into the water and, with the help of materials obtained from the beach concessionaire, managed to reach the four victims and pull them out of the water. After receiving assistance at the scene, they were taken to the hospital, and a rescuer also received assistance.
Following the incident, a pregnant family member of the two victims felt unwell and was also taken to hospital.
At the scene were rescuers from the Annual Bathing Assistance Service (SAAB) of Vila do Conde, a 4×4 vehicle from the Os Golfinhos Lifeguard Association, the marine police of Povoa de Varzim and Vila do Conde, volunteer firefighters of Vila do Conde, Povoa de -Varzin.
