– Israel-Iran: Following Iran’s weekend attack on Israel in response to the April 1 attack on its consulate in Damascus, Syria, attributed to Israel, tension has risen in the Middle East. Iran has ended the response operation against Israel, according to the Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdoulahian, who stated this Sunday that Iran has no intention of “continuing with defensive operations.” The Secretary General of the UN, António Guterres, has condemned Iran’s launch of projectiles against Israel and the attacks against the Iranian Consulate in Damascus and has called on both countries to “take a step back” in the escalation because “the world does not more war can be allowed.”

Final stretch of the electoral campaign: The electoral campaign is heating up in the final stretch after the latest EITB Focus poll points to a victory for EH Bildu in votes and seats over the PNV. The Basque political parties continue with their campaign events and this Tuesday, April 16, EITB will offer the second of the two major debates ahead of the Basque Parliament Elections on April 21. It will be from 10:00 p.m., live, on ETB2, Radio Euskadi and eitb.eus.

World Creativity Forum: The Basque Autonomous Community welcomes cultural and creativity professionals from all over the world this week at the “World Creativity Forum”. This meeting will take place on April 15, 16 and 17 with the motto “Cultural and Creative Ecosystems: Governance and Innovation Models”, as reported by the Basque Government in a statement. The objective of the forum, in addition to learning about different models and the latest trends in the sector, is to create new job opportunities and relationships between agents in the sector. The headquarters of the Forum will be the Euskalduna Palace (Bilbao), but it will also be held in Tabakalera (Donostia-San Sebastián) and Artium (Vitoria-Gasteiz).
